I am trying to figure out the affect of adding or deleting military units as those acts
relate to my budget and I am lost.
As I understand the rules, ground units cost £1.0 million per year for most of the units
if the unit is at a base within its host nation. If you had 17 INF then it cost £17.0 million for the year in maintenance. If you also had 5 INF mobilized the
formulae is 5 * (.5 * GQL) = maintenance cost. Assuming that the GQL is 5.0 this would be 5 * (.5 * 5.0) = £12.5 million. The total maintenance would seem to
be £29.5 million. However, when I look at my budget the maintenance total is 7 or 8 times higher.
Likewise, the rules on Naval Units list men and coal but not money as a maintenance cost, but the navy costs almost as much as the army units!
I am sure there is a valid for why this is but the three players I asked did not have a clue and I would like to know how these maintenance costs are determined, otherwise I am at a disadvantage in managing my budget and balancing my forces.
