Naval Minister

Chancellor von Bulow's call for Germany to create a massive fleet has sent the admirals of the Marine Nationale into a panic. They are calling for an amibitious naval plan to counter Germany's build-up with the construction of five battleships, five armoured cruisers and 60 destroyers over the next five years. They also want to expand the naval base at Calais to host a large North Sea Fleet and build new dockyards to accommodate further construction. They admit this plan will take up nearly all of our available industry for those five years, but maintain that it is necessary to ensure the safety of our coast.

War Minister

The bombastic declarations by Germany should not go unanswered. The Generals have submitted funding requests to erect fortresses in Nancy, Belfort and Epinal against a German attack and build additional rail lines from Paris and Dijon to the fortresses to improve troop movement.

Interior Minister

The economy is in full recovery from the recent depression, though some people are wondering if the government is as active as they could be in promoting growth.

Foreign Minister

Most of Latin America remains hostile to France due to our invasion of Mexico some 30 years ago. The Balkan nations are indifferent to us, as Russia and Britain have been their primary benefactors.

Minister for the Colonies

The ministry fears that a successful revolt in Cuba has the danger of spreading across the region and into Guadeloupe and Martinique. The Ministry also presents its plan for Africa, establishing rail line across North Africa from Tunis to Oran, and south from Algiers to Dakar and the Ivory Coast. The Governor of French Congo has ordered that African workers there be paid and treated as well as Europeans. We fear a loss of productivity from the colony if this continues.
