Germany has lost a trade concession in Uruguay due to an anti-German sentiment stirred up by the article in World Events.

Most of the Germans in Somalia and Sudan have returned to Germany. The evacuation has caused a drop in Misc. Trade.

The British citizens in German East Africa opted to return to their motherland.

DOMESTIC

The German financial industry issues a correction; all payments on the loan must be made by 1910. Thus, payments on a £100 million loan will be made at £13 million per year from 1901 to 1909, and £12.4 million in 1910.

A substantially growing portion of the government is concerned about alienating the British Empire. They warn that our actions have driven the British to the verge of establishing an entente with France and Russia. They cling to Victorian delusions of Anglo-Saxon world domination and favour abandoning the Triple Alliance and African expansion to seek closer ties with England. The group is small, but encompasses many aspects of the German government, including colonial administrators who fear a Royal Navy blockade, generals, diplomats and labour leaders.

DIPLOMACY

Greece has approached the German ambassador to inquire under what terms the Kaiser would be willing to forgive or repay part or all of Greece's debt.

Netherlands
The Dutch have sent word that their queen will be holding a royal tour of Europe in 1901, and seeks an invite to visit your nation and meet with its leaders and nobles.
